Melvyn live in Concert enchants audience at Dubai

Dubai, 01 May 2016: The audiences gathered at JSS Auditorium, hereon Friday April 29 evening, witnessed a spectacular event which left them enchanted with energetic and scintillating music and performance. Melvyn Antony D’Souza, one of the popular singers among the Konkani community residing in UAE lived up to the title bestowed upon him by his friends and fans as Rock Star mesmerized the audiences with his debut ‘Melvyn live in Concert.’

 

The event which featured popular singers from Dubai and abroad led by dynamic band ‘Charitra’ was organized by UAE’s well known community based association, Vamanjooreans UAE in association with Maestro Events.

 

Band Charitra led by spirited Loy Valentine along with Melvyn, Akshada Talaulikar and other popular singers of UAE struck a right chord with the crowd gathered and presented a wonderful event which will undoubtedly linger long in the memories of all those who attended it.

 

The event began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the main sponsors of the event, Jerald Lobo and Roopa Lobo, guests V P Lobo, managing director of T3 Urban Developers Private Limited, Mendonca brothers - Lawrence, Richard and James, Air India regional manager Melvyn D’Silva, Cynthia Govias along with president of Vamanjooreans UAE, Johnson Monteiro.

 

                

 

The guests were welcomed and honored by the president of the association. V P Lobo in address commended Melvyn and group, exhorted them and all the youth, to invest their potentials for the wellbeing of the community.

 

The event had lot in store and exuberance emanating from the singers especially by Melvyn and Akshada Talaulikar set it apart. The first Global Konkani best female singer award recipient Akshada evoked thundering applauses by the audience for her electrifying performance of bBollywood and Konkani numbers.

 

Melvyn undoubtedly was the ‘soul’ of the musical evening with his ever enthusiastic performance and usual charm. He displayed profound show of his abilities in singing and performance. Undoubtedly, he had left the audience spellbound with music, but also displayed his ability in a vivid mimicry. Melvyn, man of many talents, best lyricist nominee for Konkani Global Music Awards - 2012 was vibrant on the stage, displaying the energy of Mika Singh, his idol, whose likeness he resembles on stage as his friends refer him, truly made his debut concert a wonderful treat for all those who were present.

 

Gulf Voice of Mangalore winners Joshal and Vincent, Raay Kogul and Rani Kogul title winners Robin and Amabelle too joined with Melvyn and Akshada in entertaining and enthralling the audience at the venue who appreciated their talents.

 

Feat Beat dance group led by Arun Lobo kept the audience on their toe who swung in sync with the dance numbers they presented for the evening. Kusaal Kalaakar UAE, consisting of trained professional actors of Kalaakul and others enlivened the evening with their rib-tickling comedy.

 

Roshan D’Silva compered the event with his usual wits and eloquence lifting the mood of the audience every now and then with his humor and spot games.

 

Melvyn and his group presented a tribute with a musical performance to all legendary singers, composers and lyricists of Konkani in a unique way. All the popular Konkani musicians who served Konkani music and who are currently contributing to it were remembered at the event with their introduction and songs.

 

Band Charitra - the new generation of Desi rock band from India flown from abroad for the occasion left their marks in the audience’s minds with their lively performance. The group led by  Loy Valentine Saldanha along with his  talented members - Patson, Ian Sachin, Rikith Leonard along with  UAE’s talented musician Prashanth and Sameer took the musical helms in their hand to rock the show.

 

Dosti’ a musical album of Melvyn and Loy was also released at the occasion which features combined efforts of them both with peppy numbers designed to delight the audience.

 

Mog Thuzo Sarwespora, a Konkani devotional album by Franklin Rodrigues was released at the occasion by Joseph Mathias. Broadway Events provided the sounds for the event. The programme concluded with lively baila session of bollywood numbers with president Johnson Monteiro thanking everyone for their contribution for the success of ‘Melvyn live in Concert.’

 

About Vamanjooreans UAE

Vamanjooreans U A E is an association of energetic parishioners of Vamanjoor and has been involved in numerous noble works which includes helping the under privileged in the parish as well as community and promoting Konkani language and culture among the Mangaloreans in the UAE.
