Bantwal: CM Siddaramaiah inaugurates newly-built Brahmashree Narayana Guru Jnana Mandir

Bantwal, 22 April 2016: The birth anniversary of Brahmashree Narayana Guru will be celebrated by the state administration beginning from 2017, announced Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah.
CM Siddaramaiah was speaking after inaugurating Brahmashree Narayana Guru Jnana Mandir that was built @ Rs 1 crore by Brahmashree Narayana Guru Seva Samiti at Subash Nagar, at the limits of Sajipamooda gram panchayat, near here on Thursday April 21.
‘I have great reverence for Narayana Guru who strived to reform the society by means of religious awakening. Meanwhile, the purpose of Jnana Mandir would be realized if we make honest attempt in following the ideals of Guru Narayana,’ said CM Siddaramaiah. He further said, ‘As long as caste systems prevails in society, there will be reservation that was the view shared by Dr B R Ambedkar who believed caste system will be eradicated by equality in terms of living standards and social status among the brethrens of different castes. The state facilities provided to all poor among different castes would bring them to mainstream of society. Congress is committed in this regard. The caste survey that was taken recently would be made public in May 2016,’ said CM Siddaramaiah.
The former union minister Janardhan Poojary presided the programme. Swami Satyanand of Shivagiri mutt, Kerala graced the occasion.

An idol of Narayana Guru that was cast with 5 metals was installed ceremoniously and Brahmakalashabisheka was held on the occasion at the newly-built Jnana Mandir.
Narayana Guru Seva Samiti president K Sanjeev Poojary welcomed the gathering. The vice president Yashwant Deraje proposed vote of thanks. Harikrishna Bantwal delivered the introductory address. The teacher Ramachandra Rao and journalist Gopal Anchan compered the programme.
