Bantwal: Children visit Town Police Station as part of summer camp

Bantwal, 07 April 2016: The children had a gala day at the town police station on Wednesday April 6. The children who usually fear the police observed the activities at the station in their midst. They raised the questions to clear their doubts, while the police personnel including the sub-inspector patiently replied thereby proving as child-friendly police station.
The journalists’ fraternity organized this visit as part of summer camp, where the children interacted with the police personnel, a rare scene indeed. Fifty-two camp participants from 23 schools were present during the visit, who have learned about the daily activities in a police station. The town police sub-inspector Nandakumar offered the necessary info.
He explained the precautions taken to curb crimes, the equipments at the police station, lockup room, wireless, guns etc.
The mobile police sub-inspector Chandrashekarayya explained about traffic rules and functions of Interceptor in curbing crimes.
The journalists Mounesh Vishwakarma, Harish Mambady, Sandeep Salian, Kishore Peraje, Yadav Agrabail and Ashraf P M, town police assistant sub-inspector Shantappa and Sesamma, police personnel Abdul Karim, Subraya, Lokesh, Krishna, Prashant, Chitralekha, Tungamma, Murugesh, mobile police sub-inspectors Rama Nayak and Krishna Nayak and others were present.
