Question paper leak - Kingpin has close links with cops
Bengaluru, 06 April 2016: The main accused, behind the recent question paper leak which rocked Karnataka, Shivakumar happens to be a former lecturer and happens to have close ties with cops, it is reported.
Shivakumar, had been arrested in connection to paper leaks on several previous occasions too with the latest arrest taking place in 2013. The investigations and his call records have hinted at a close links he shared with many cops.
It is also reported that kids of quite a few police officers have benefited from the II PU chemistry paper leaks. The beneficiaries also included cadets who appeared for the KPSC and other police department examinations.
A name of an officer has popped up during the investigations who is affiliated to the state government and the police department and happens to have close links with Shivakumar. The officer’s name however remains undisclosed for technical reasons.
Shivakumar who was a lecturer former gave up his job to start his own tutorial in Tumakuru. Soon he took to selling question papers of the various exams being conducted in the state with the help of officials from revenue, treasury, PWD, police and other departments thereby developing good ties with them over the years.
Police have so far arrested six persons in connection to the question paper leak. The arrested persons include Manjunath, the physical education teacher of Cambridge school in Vijayanagara. All six are LIC agents.
Three of the arrested persons will be produced in court on Wednesday March 6.
Investigations have hinted at more than 20 people being involved in the racket.
Shivakumar and his associates Mallesh and Iramallayya are still absconding.
