Dubai, 11 Jan 2016: With the UAE economy diversifying, the need for skilled UAE Nationals is on the rise. UAE Exchange, the leading global remittance, foreign exchange and payment solutions brand, has always been in the forefront to empower the youth of the nation in alignment with the vision of the UAE government for Emiratisation. UAE Exchange has been making significant progress in creating sustainable employment opportunities for the Emirati youth through its long-running empowering programme.

Promoth Manghat, CEO, UAE Exchange said, ‘The advent of technology has affected the evolution of the global economic landscape in faster fashion. Hence it has become imperative that we create and nurture a talent pool, which is knowledgeable and competent, thereby, narrowing the skills gap. Taleem, the Emiratisation programme at our organization, has always attracted Emiratis as our training programme involves real time work experience. This is in line with the government’s programme and encourages the Emirati youth to compete at a global platform.  We are confident that the increased awareness in this drive will empower our talented Emirati youth and experienced Emirati workforce to further spearhead the business operations of our organization.’

UAE Exchange, in its commitment towards supporting the career aspirations of the Emirati youth and cultivating their talent for leadership roles within the organisation, has been conducting ‘Taleem’. This four to eight week internship programme, provides the young UAE Nationals, a platform to gain intensive on-the-job training, enhance industry knowledge base, develop confidence and communication abilities, and earn a stipend while studying.

Says Reem Ali Al Zaabi, a final year student of B Sc (environment) at Zayed University, Abu Dhabi: ‘I am delighted to be part of Taleem, which has equipped me with skills that will benefit me in my career succession planning. Although, I am a science student but working part time in a financial institution like UAE Exchange has opened a whole new avenue for me. I like the dynamism of this industry and look forward to contribute to its growth after I graduate.’

Adds Ali Sultan Al Ghumlasi, a graduate in advertising from St Sebastian College, Philippines: ‘The training imparted to us during the Emiratisation programme not only provides us with vocational training but also outlines our career growth prospects. It has equipped each one of us with enhanced knowledge about our work, industry and how to interact with customers of various nationalities.’ Ali has been working with UAE Exchange-Ajman branch for the past 5 months.

The Emiratisation programme has also attracted women who are married and with children as ‘It gives women an opportunity to empower themselves and their families,” says Elham Ahmed, a mother of four. “Since the UAE economy is diversifying, new jobs and roles are under creation. The Emiratisation programme equips the Emirati youth with the requisite skill set so that they can contribute productively towards the economic growth of the country. I have also been part of this programme and it has helped me grow, both in my personal and professional life.’ Elham joined UAE Exchange in 2010 as an Officer and since then has risen in the ranks and is now Supervisor at one of the branches in Sharjah.

Agrees Nouf Abdullah, a mother of two, who did not want to be tied down and become dependent on anyone. ‘I have always wanted to be independent and manage my own finances. When I first visited the UAE Exchange stall at the Exhibition Center in Abu Dhabi this year, I was unsure. It is only after speaking with the representative that I enrolled with the organization for the Emiratisation programme. Today, I am working as an Officer at the Abu Dhabi Souk branch. This is my first job and the time spent in the organization has given me great insights into the world of Banking and Finance. I have recommended few of my friends too to enroll in this programme so that they too can become financially independent and support their families.’

As for Noora Mourad Al Jabri, a mother of five, her inspiration to work comes from B R Shetty. ‘I had read a lot about Shetty and his commitment to serve the expatriates. Inspired by him, I enrolled in the Emiratisation programme and started working at UAE Exchange in 2008. Although, I moved to other greener pastures in 2010, I rejoined UAE Exchange in 2013 as I found that the organization not only recognizes but cultivates the skill-set of each Emirati. I am glad to work in this highly-productive multi-cultural environment. It gives me an opportunity to succeed in my career and also gives me an opportunity to work alongside people from more than 40 nationalities.’ Noora works at one of the branches in Fujairah.

With a strong and dedicated workforce of Emiratis employed across the spectrum of its operations,UAE Exchange plans to accelerate its Emirati employment over the coming years. The company, in continuation towards its commitment to empower the UAE nationals, has strengthened its association with the Emiratisation Authorities, Tanmia, Educational Institutions/Universities and various career fairs like National Career Exhibition (Sharjah), Careers UAE (Dubai), Tawdheef (Abu Dhabi), Efair (organized by AUH Government) among others.
