It used to be celebrated with grandeur by Bantwal taluk pnachat at their auditorium jointly by national festivals celebration Committee and taluk administration. The officers of different departments would actively partake in the celebration along with school children singing Kanakadasa hymns. The resource persons would deliver lectures on the life of Kanakadasa. The department officials including peoples’ representatives would attend the celebration. However, this year, citing the model code of conduct for legislative council elections, Kanaka Jayanti was celebrated for name sake by placing the portrait of Kanakadas in a corner of taluk office.
