Bantwal: Sleuths nab 4 persons; seize 300 grams of narcotic substance at Punjalkatte

Bantwal, 25 Nov 2015: The policemen arrested 4 persons and seized 300 grams of narcotic substance whilst they were travelling in an auto rickshaw at Punjalkatte, near here on Tuesday November 24.
The arrested has been identified as twenty-two-year-old Abdul Samad, a resident of Ullal in Mangaluru town, nineteen-year-old Abdul Safwan, resident of Dharmanagara, Ullal, forty-seven-year-old Mohammed Sadiq, resident of Subash Nagar, Ullal and thirty-four-year-old Mohammed Siraj, resident of Manjanady, Mangaluru.
The sub-inspector of Punjalkatte Latesh Kumar and policemen intercepted the auto rickshaw that was plying from Beltangady, but the driver did not stop the auto rickshaw. The police chased the auto rickshaw and managed to stop it. The police found 300 grams of narcotic substance valued in local market @ Rs 9,000 hidden underneath the seat.
The accused confessed that they bought the substance from a certain Farouq from Gerukatte, near here.
The presented the accused in the court and further investigations are under way.
