Mangaluru: City bike riders hold rally to project site of Yettinahole to save Netravati River

Mangaluru, 23 Nov 2015: The bike enthusiasts of city undertaken rally to the project site of Yettinahole, with the slogan, Shelve Yettinahole Project – Save Netravati, here on Sunday November 22.
Dakshina Kannada district MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and deputy mayor Purushottam Chitrapura flagged-off the rally at Mangala Stadium, here on Sunday at 7.30am.
Alutiruvalu Netravatiyemba Hani, (trickle of lifeline Netravati river is crying) Kannada poetry authored by Kasargod Ashok Kumar was released on the same occasion.
KMC Hospital provided free ambulance service and mechanics through up and down journey.
About 23 bikers in the rally to Save Netravati River, covered B C Road, Uppinangady, Shirady, Maranahalli, Yettinahole, Heggadde, Hebbasale where the ongoing project located.
Puruhit Gopalakrishna Bhat, hailing from Mangaluru serving at Katyayini mutt, Yettinahole offered puja to lifeline Netravati River, seeking divine interference to maintain steady flow of water and let the Tulunadu never get affected by the project.
Save Sahyadri Ghats key environmentalists Dinesh Holla also offered Bhagina to the river.
The rally was headed by key organizers Konchady Narasimha Shenoy, Rajendra Pai and Kamalaksha Mallya.
