Politicians in state seek ban on Bigg Boss
Bengaluru, 20 Nov 2015: Several politicians in the state have sought for a ban on the TV reality show Bigg Boss that is currently being telecast on Colors Kannada channel.
The demand came up after a contestant allegedly bashed up another contestant during a live show. However, after the assault, contestant, film actor Huchcha Venkat was eliminated from the show.
Congress leader RV Venkatesh said that the reality show was not in a good taste; the contestants did not follow norms of society and tend to have a negative influence on society. Venkatesh, in a letter has urged the police to take action against the actor, who assaulted the contestant and also against the creative head of the channel.
However, Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara stated that so far no complaint had been registered with regard to the assault; hence they were not aware of whether the assault was genuine or part of the act. However, he added that till a complaint was filed they could not intervene.
