Mumbai: Exhibition on life of renowned Kannada litterateur late M M Kalburgi unveiled

Mumbai, 01 Nov 2015: One who has degree need not possess scholarly knowledge. All those who got degrees are not scholars. However, the renowned litterateur M M Kalburgi who was slain recently was a scholar indeed. He has left behind his scholarly studies in his works. The enmity should not have been culminated in shoot out that the tragic. One got to be sensitive to the language, while Kalburgi was a linguistic scholar and his life worthy to be emulated, said Kannada and culture department retired commissioner K R Ramakrishna.
Ramakrishna was speaking after unveiling the art exhibition based on the life of late M A Kalburgi and his books which was jointly organized by Sane Guruji National Memorial Organization, Laxmi Chaya and Kannada department of Mumbai University at Phiroz Shah Mehta auditorium of Mumbai University at Kalina campus, Santacruz (East) here on Saturday October 31 afternoon.
The head of department of Kannada Dr G N Upadhya welcomed the gathering. Rama Udupa compered the programme.
Dr Vyasaraya Ninjoor, advocate Vasant Kalakoti, B S Kurkal, Shimunje Parari, Dr Mamata Rao, Kannada lecturer Dr Poornima S Shetty, Dr Dinesh Shetty Renjala, Petri Vishwanat Shetty, Dr Karunakar Shetty and others were present.
