Mangaluru: Two retired clergies die in road mishap, Seminary Rector Fr Joseph Martis injured

Mangaluru, 1 Nov 2015: Two retired priests died and another priest sustained injuries in a tanker-jeep collision at Kottara here on Sunday November 1.

 

The deceased has been identified as Fr Maxim Furtado and Fr John D’Souza, both were inmates of Vianney Home for diocesan retired clergies.

 

  

 

Fr Joseph Martis, rector of St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu, who was driving the Mahindra jeep suffered injuries and rushed to hospital.

 

Sources said that they were on their way to Kulur Church to attend the birthday celebration of a priest, when a speeding bullet tanker hit their vehicle from behind at the intersection of highway at Kottara here.

 

The city west traffic police have registered a case and investigations are under way.
