Bantwal: College student drown in Netravati River

Bantwal, 13 Oct 2015: A college student was perished in the waters of Netravati River at Kaikunje, near B C Road, here on Monday October 12 at 4.00pm.

 

 

The deceased has been identified as seventeen-year-old Akbar, son of Hamid, a resident of G T Road, Nandavar, near here. He was the I B Com student of Adarsha College, Kaikamba, B C Road, here.

 

 

Akbar along with his friends has ventured into the waters to bath, when he was drowned despite his friends tried to rescue in vain.

 

The fire brigade and police personnel sought the help of local swimmers in retrieving the body till sunset.

 

Civic member Mohammed Sharif and Monish Ali visited the spot.
