Udupi Deanery level Married Couples Day celebrated at Udupi

Udupi, 03 Oct 2015: Family Life Service Centre, (JIVIT), Family Life Commission of Udupi diocese organized Udupi Deanery level Marriage Couple’s Day with fervor at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Udupi on Friday, 2nd October, 2015.

 

The day began with married couple’s procession to the Our Lady of Sorrows Church with the Sunshine melody brass band of Parampally, followed by priests. The solemn mass concelebrated by Rev Dr. Lawrence C. D’Souza Secretary of CESU, Udupi diocese along with deanery priests and Rev Fr. William Martis Convener of Inter-religious commission of diocese.

 

 

Fr. Lawrence D’souza during in his homily pointed out six valuable points to married couple.There should be unity between married couple, faithfulness, invitation with walk through Jesus Christ, occasion, mission and to establish good Christian values. Jesus Christ is the role model of married couple. It is the work of God who put the foundation for family life.

 

During the mass wedding vows were renewed by around 110 couples of the deanery through Fr. Alban D’Souza Parish Priest of Kalmady church and Rev. Fr. Roque D’Souza prayed for the marriage couples who were present during the mass.

 

Leslie Aroza Director of Family Service Commission of the diocese briefed some of the announcements with gratitude.

 

Rev Dr. Msgr. Baptist Menezes Vicar General of Diocese presided during the stage reception programme at Bishop’s House Hall on third floor. Prior to the stage programme prayer dance held by St. Mary’s High School students. Rev Fr. Denis D’Sa PRO of Udupi diocese and Parish Priest of Kuntalnagar Church along with one of the oldest married couple and one of the youngest married couple, Leslie Aroza and Eugene Lasrado, Convener of Deanery level of Family Service commission.

 

One of the youngest and one of the oldest married couples were cut the cake with enthusiasm. Rev Fr. Denis D’Sa raised the toast beautifully and meaningfully for the married couples. He said value your partner and don’t take granted.

 

Vicar General Msgr. Baptist Menezes during his presiding address pointed out punchasuthras (five points) to married couples. He briefed to married couple on Faithfulness, respect, life together, love is total, dialogue, relation, forgiveness and prayer.

 

Spot games were conducted by master of ceremony Roshan Menezes of Kuntalnagar and prizes were distributed by Rev Fr. Royson of Udupi Church. Due to the unhealthy condition of Bishop, he was present during the Holy Mass as well as present during the reception programme in the hall up to end.

 

Earlier Leslie Aroza welcomed the gatherings. Eugene Lasrado delivered the vote of thanks. Fellowship meal served to all the participants.
