Mangaluru: Joshiana 6.0, 2-Day National IT Fest held @ SJEC, Vamanjoor

Mangaluru, 03 Oct 2015: The TechnoCrats - Students Association of Department of Computer Applications of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) Vamanjoor, here organized Joshiana 6.0, 2-day National Level IT Fest for the students of MCA, M Tech, MS and BE (CS & IS) from September 30 to October 1. The fest was organized under the aegis of the department of computer applications of SJEC.
Joshiana 6.0 was inaugurated with the lighting the lamp by the dignitaries which included Praveen Kumar Kalbavi, Managing Director & CEO at Novigo Solutions Pvt Ltd, Mangaluru, who was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Function. This was followed by the unveiling of the trophies for which the participants were competing against each other.
The Chief Guest, Praveen Kumar Kalbavi addressed the gathering wherein he voiced his opinion on coping up with the growth in technology. He urged the students to try out the option of joining a startup firm and growing with the organization. The Chief Guest further went on to add that the youth of today should explore the opportunities of being an entrepreneur by starting an organization of their own.
The fest comprised of 10 events: Coding, IT Quiz, Gaming, Web Designing, Product Launch, App Development, IT Parliament, IT Showcase, Best IT Manager and Culturals. The events were designed to test the technical mettle of the participants.
The events were conducted by the MCA students over 2 days and the judges were invited from in and out of the college. All in all 14 teams participated in Joshiana 6.0 and we had 140 participants visiting our college and being a part of the fest.
Some of the external judges called from outside included Flona and Shilpa from i-POINT Consulting Services, who judged the Mock Press round of the event Best Manager. The final round of the event Best IT Manager was judged by Arpith from BIG 92.7 FM and Manoj Louis, both experts in the field of Stress Interviews. The judges for all the events were felicitated by the respective Event Managers by handing them a memento as a token of appreciation.
Joshiana 6.0 was concluded with Valedictory Function and the Chief Guest for the ceremony was Fr Joseph Lobo, Director-SJEC.
The Runners-Up award for Joshiana 6.0 was awarded to NMAMIT, Nitte and the Overall Championship was bagged by Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru.
