Karkal: ICYM organizes Karkal deanery Yuva Sambram - 2015

Karkal, 13 Aug 2015: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of Karkal deanery organized Yuva Sambram – 2015 for all youth of different parishes here on Sunday August 9.
 
Karkal deanery vicar Fr Joswy Fernandes inaugurated the programme along with Steven Colaco and ICYM Kanajar unit director Fr Alexander Lewis.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Steven Colaco said, ‘We should be self motivated in making best use of every opportunity that we get in our life. One should not forget from where we come from in our journey of life,’ said Steven.
 
The youth who passed with distinctions in II PUC and degree were felicitated on the same occasion.
 
Fr Joswy in his presidential address said, ‘We should be inspired from Dr Kalam’s Vision 2020. The dreams are not which you undergo during sleep, but dreams are those which does not allow you to sleep,’ said Fr Joswy.
 
It was followed by interactive session with resource person Norbert Misquith. Norbert enlightened the youth about their role in the society. The variety games were held to engage the youth productively.
 
The Holy Mass was celebrated and lunch was served to all the youth.
 
The cultural programme was begun on Sunday at 2.30pm. Seven parishes participated in the programme. It indeed has provided a venue to showcase their talent.

 

ICYM Kanajar unit director Fr Alexander delivered the valedictory address on Sunday evening. Fr Alwyn D’Cunha addressed the youth on the occasion.
 
ICYM Hirgan unit former director Fr Roshan D’Souza, YCS International director Fr Charles, Karnataka regional director Fr Marie Joseph, ICYM Udupi unit director Fr Edwin, animators Elsie D’Souza and Edwin Mendonca were present.
 
ICYM Kanajar unit won the first place in cultural shows, ICYM Ajekar unit and ICYM Manipal unit were runners up. 
 
ICYM Kanajar unit presented the prayer song. ICYM Karkal deanery president Franklyn Danti welcomed the gathering. Allen Salis and Elson D’Souza Hirgan compered the programme.
