Udupi: Equal status to widows essential in society - Mohini N Nayak

Udupi, 11 Aug 2015: The modern society is facing constant changes, while one got to change with the times. It’s tragic that women are being oppressed in the educated society. The women and widows should get equal status in social and religious celebrations, said NRI Mohini N Nayak Mangaluru.
Mohini was speaking after inaugurating general body meeting of RSB Mahila Vedike – Manipal, and felicitation of toppers in their studies, held at RSB auditorium, Manipal, near here on Sunday August 9.
‘The children got be culturally brought up and encourage them to respect their parents, elders and teachers. It’s a worthy deed to help the talented children to excel in studies,’ said Mohini.
Mahila Vedike president Suma S Nayak presided the programme. Mahila Vedike president Sunita N Nayak, treasurer Mohini N Nayak was present at the dais.
The talented students Chetana and Deepak who secured highest marks in SSLC and II PUC respectively were felicitated, along with national Karate champions Ashwita and Vaishnavi Prabhu.
Mahila Vedike secretary Bharati R Nayak presented the report. Sumitra R Nayak and Sumitra S Nayak compered the programme. Bharati Nayak proposed vote of thanks.
