Mangaluru: Kannada crusader of Kasargod - Kayyara Kinhana Rai (101) passes away

Mangaluru, 09 Aug 2015: The veteran multi-lingual litterateur and poet Kayyara Kinhana Rai (101) passed away at his home in Pernankila, Kasargod district on Sunday August 9.
The state forests and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai in his condolence message said that Kinhana was a crusader for unifying Kasargod with Karnataka and his contributions in this regard indeed is extraordinary. It’s the great loss for Kannada struggle.
The state health and family welfare minister U T Khader said that Kinhana was link promoting Kannada in Karnataka and Kerala boundary. It’s the great loss for coastal Karnataka and Kasargod.
The state urban minister Vinayakumar Sorake, the state youth services and sports minister Abayachandra Jain, Mangaluru north MLA Moideen Bawa, Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Katel expressed their heartfelt condolences on demise of Kinhana Rai.
Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim visited the family of Kinhana and offered tribute personally.
