Udupi: Marauding fisheries truck kills motorcyclist & pillion rider at Muloor, NH 66

Udupi, 28 Jul 2015: A motorcyclist and his pillion rider died in a ghastly road mishap caused by a marauding fisheries truck at Muloor, near Shirva, here on NH 66 on Sunday July 26 morning.
The deceased has been identified as twenty-two-year-old Nagaraj B R and thirty-two-year-old Mallikarjuna, residents of Mandigadde in Teertahalli taluk of Shivamogga district, Karnataka.
The fisheries truck driver fled from the scene no sooner the truck came to halt.
Both Nagaraj and Mallikarjuna had come to see a relative who was admitted in a hospital at Mangaluru on Saturday July 24. They were returning to Shivamogga on Sunday morning, when the ghastly road mishap occurred.
A marauding fisheries truck registered in Tamil Nadu was precariously trying to overtake a private intercity bus, when the truck head on collided with the motorcycle.
As a result, the motorcyclist and his pillion rider were hit on the road and both died instantly. The truck hit the signboard located besides the highway and stopped.
Kaup Soori Shetty and local resident Umesh helped to take the dead in an ambulance to the hospital.
Kaup circle inspector Sunil Y Nayak, Kaup sub-inspector Jagdish Reddy and police personnel arrived at the spot.
Kaup police registered a case in this regard and investigations are in progress.
