Will give a bigger package than Rs 50,000 crore to Bihar: PM Modi

New Delhi, 25 Jul 2015: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who launched a number of government schemes in poll-bound Bihar on Saturday, promised the people of the state a package bigger than the amount of Rs 50,000 crore. 

 

"When I came before the Lok Sabha elections, I had announced that we will give Bihar a special package of Rs 50,000 crore. Looking at our dreams for a prosperous Bihar, we will give a bigger package than Rs 50,000 cr. This is my promise," Narendra Modi said. 

 

"I will announce a special package for Bihar at the right time, not now," Modi said. 

 

"Nitishji said he has high hopes from our government, we are working towards fulfilling the states’ needs by increasing allocation to states. The development of Bihar is our Prime Agenda, development of eastern India is our mission," the Prime Minister said.

 

"There is no alternative to development. Development is the answer for all problems," Modi said. 

 

"We have go for development in our fight against all our problems," he said. 

 

Seeking to kick start the BJP’s poll campaign in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a slew of schemes, including the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY). 

 

The Prime Minister, who shared the stage with Nitish Kumar, flagged off the Daniyawa-Biharsharif Railway line and the Patna-Mumbai railway line. 

 

He also dedicated the permanent campus of Indian Institute of Technology, Patna to the nation and an incubation centre for medical electronics. 

 

Prime Minister Modi also listed out highway projects worth about Rs 5000 crores which have been approved in Bihar. 

 

Nearly 2,000 policemen have been deployed here for Modi’s security after intelligence agencies warned of a possible "human bomb attack" on him.
