Beltangady: National meet of RSETI stakeholders for recognition of best performers

Beltangady, 16 Jul 2015: National meet of RSETI stakeholders for recognition of best performers was held on at Malvankar Hall, New Delhi by union ministry of rural development (MoRD) to commemorate the third anniversary of signing a historic MoU between MoRD and & National Academy of Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI) on Wednesday July 15.
 
The awards were given away in a glittering function by Dr D Veerendra Heggade, honorary co-chairman of National Level Advisory Committee on RSETIs in the presence of J K Mohapatra, secretary, of union ministry of rural development, Aparajita Sarangi, joint secretary of union ministry of rural development, Arun Srivastava, managing director and CEO of SyndicateBank, P S Rawat, ED of Canara Bank and other top executives from sponsor Banks and government officials.
 
Speaking on the occasion, J K Mohapatra mentioned that RSETIs set up by different Banks will be successful only if the sponsor Banks take the programme as a part of their main activity and not under Corporate Social Responsibility. RSETIs set up by various Banks shall give more focus on developing infrastructure in all their RSETIs so that effective training can be provided to the unemployed youth, he said.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade, in his address, lauded the efforts of MoRD, Bankers, state governments and RSETIs and thanked everybody for reposing faith on him to take the RSETI Movement to newer heights. He urged secretary of MoRD to look into certain policy issues like expansion of National Academy of RUDSETI, hassle free credit support to RSETI trained candidates, incentive to best performing RSETIs, Increasing the amount of grant support given by MoRD to the sponsor Banks for construction of RSETI premises and early settlement of claims for reimbursement for BPL candidates trained by RSETIs. He also appealed to all the participants to evince keen interest and work with total commitment and passion so that the unemployment problem of the youth can be addressed. ‘Today is an auspicious day since our Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi is launching a nation wide programme for skill development in the Country. RSETIs are the centres of learning, where the dream of Prime Minister can be fulfilled to a large extent,’ Dr Heggade remarked.

 
Arun Srivastava and P S Rawat recalled the long association of their Banks with Dr D Veerendra Heggade in establishing RUDSETI way back in 1982 and appealed to every stakeholder to actively participate in addressing the unemployment problem of the country by joining hands with RSETI movement.
 
Dr D Veerendra Heggade, J K Mohapatra, Aparajita Sarangi, alongwith Arun Srivastava and P S Rawat, released the Annual Activities Report of Monitoring Cell, Brochures on RSETI Movement and CDs containing EDP inputs in twelve local languages for the benefit of Directors and faculty members of RSETIs. All of them lauded the role of K N Janardhana, CPC, Monitoring Cell for RSETIs and his team for this good work.

K N Janardhana welcomed the gathering. Renuka Kumar, director of MoRD presented the objectives of this meeting and path ahead for RSETI movement. Aparajita Sarangi proposed vote of thanks. Uma Iyer compered the programme.

 

MD and CEOs of SyndicateBank, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Andhra Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and Indian Bank, executive directors, general managers and top executives of various Banks and all the state Project Co-ordinators of Monitoring Cell were also present on the occasion.

 

Vasudev Kalkundri, director of Monitoring Cell for RSETIs and his team was responsible for making the function a grand success. More than 600 people participated and shared their joy.
 
K N Janardhana, chief project co-ordinator, Monitoring Cell for RSETIs, N Manjunatha Bhat, director general, National Academy of RUDSETI, top perfoming Bankers and state governments and directors of various RUDSETIs/RSETIs were awarded trophies and certificates of excellence on the occasion.
