Bantwal: Nine-year-old boy feared drown in Jakimoole rivulet, Kambalabettu

Bantwal, 13 Jul 2015: A nine-year-old boy who had gone to play along with his friends in a nearby rivulet was feared drowned here on Sunday July 12.
Mohammed Rauf (9), son of Abdul Rauf, residing at Kolambe that comes under the limits of Kasaba – Vittal gram panchayat was feared drowned.
Rauf was studying in Class V at Government Higher Primary School, Kolambe. He had gone for a swim along with his friends Ramiz, Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Kaif and Hakim at Jakimoole rivulet, Kambalabetu near here on Sunday at 4.00pm. The family was alarmed when Rauf did not return home till late evening.
The local swimmers found sandals and a t-shirt of Rauf on the shore and began search for body but so far did not succeed.
Vittal sub-inspector Prakash Devadiga arrived at the spot. Vittal revenue inspector Divakar, village accountant Prakash reported the tragedy to Bantwal Tahsildar Purandar Hegde.
