Mangaluru: Gold smuggling cases on rise at city airport; customs seize worth over Rs 12 Lac

Mangaluru, 12 Jul 2015: The customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport seized 464 grams (net weight) of gold which was concealed in the form of washer attached to the inner lining of a gray color stroller bag. The value of the gold is Rs 12,20,320.
The passenger Mohammed Mogral who is residing at Thaiba Manzil, TVS Road, Mongal Post, Kumbla, Kasargod district of Kerala, carried the gold in his checked in baggage, who arrived at Mangaluru International Airport by Air India flight number IX 816 from Abu Dhabi on Saturday July 12 morning.
Further investigation is under progress.
