Udupi: Rural games bring joy to children, youth & elderly at Bantakal

Udupi, 05 Jul 2015: The rural sports were held for women, men and children regardless of age at the spacious silted field of Sadambail Anantaram Wagle, Bantakal, near here on Sunday July 5. The participants both young and old enjoyed the daylong fun in the field, by running on silted field, tug-of-war, musical chair, breaking the pot, weaving the tendu leaves, weaving rope out of bay, blowing balloon and breaking etc.
 
Udupi ZP former president and RSB Sangha president Upendra Nayak inaugurated fifth taluk level rural sports competitions organized by Rajapura Saraswat Yuva Vrunda, Bantakal, near here to mark their fifth anniversary celebration.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Upendra Nayak said rural sports are fostered among new generation of youth by organizing such programmes. 
 
Bantakal temple managing trustee Gurnebettu Ganapati Nayak, Syndicate Bank – Shankarapura branch manager Ashok Nayak, Bank of Baroda – Shankarapura branch manager Sasidar Bandodkar, retired headmaster B Ramachandra Prabhu conveyed best wishes.  

 

 
Karkal- Hirgana Laxmipura temple managing trustee entrepreneur Jagdish Nayak, Bantakal temple governing council chairman Gampadabail Jayaram Prabhu, veteran farmer Srinivas Wagle Sadambail, Vijaya Home Industries proprietor Ramachandra Nayak, journalist B Pundalika Marate, retired headmaster B Anantaram Bhat were the chief guests distributed the prizes to the winners.
 
Rajapura Saraswat Yuva Vrunda president Praveen Wagle welcomed the gathering. The honorary president K R Patkar, Umesh Prabhu Palame, Innanje PU College physical training instructor Arvind Prasad, Sachin Nayak assisted in the programme.
 
The newly-elected gram panchayat members Geeta Vittal Wagle, Mamata Sasidar Wagle and K Ramaraya Patkar were felicitated during the programme.
 
The lecturer Ramdas Prabhu compered the programme. The School headmaster Devdas Patkar was the commentator read the list of winners.  The secretary Adarsh Patkar proposed vote of thanks.
