Mangaluru, 05 Jul 2015: St Aloysius College in association with the Woman’s Cell and Human Rights Cell organized an interactive session on the theme Women in Administration here on Friday July 3 at 3.00pm.
The chief guest for the occasion was Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat CEO P I Srividya.
Dr Rose Vera D’Souza, co-coordinator of Women’s Cell of St Aloysius College, highlighted the aim of the women’s cell’s activities by conveying the theme of ‘Women Aspire for Women Empowerment’ for the academic year of 2015-16.
Speaking on the occasion Srividya urged the students to develop an interest in social service, so that oneu can be an asset to the society. She also recommended the active participation of students in decision making.
Srividya also said, ‘Women representation is 50 percent in the gram panchayat which is the highest in Dakshinna Kannada District.’ When asked about the bureaucratic scope for women she said, ‘Exposure for Women in the Bureaucratic level is now much easier than before.’ She also said that society has to accept the changes in the world, but it is slightly difficult for the people with traditional mindset.
An interactive session of students with Srividya was held on the same occasion.
