Mangaluru: ADC Sadashiva Prabhu advises youth not shy away from Electoral politics

Mangaluru, 02 Jul 2015: ‘There are several mechanisms to ensure free and fair elections. Hence youngsters should not shy away from Electoral politics,’ advised, B Sadashiva Prabhu, e Additional Deputy Commissioner, to the students of Political Science at St Aloysius College at the inaugural of the interactive session series of students with the municipal administrators.
The department of Political science - St Aloysius College has initiated to organize a series of interactive sessions with the municipal body to help students to know the realities of civic administration.
The inaugural programme of the series was held at the Teletorium of the College here on Thursday July 2 at 9.15am.
ADC Sadashiva Prabhu addressed the students on holding elections at municipal body. He impressed upon the students on the continuous enablement that the elections have seen over the recent years and how elections becoming more and more fair.
Students raised questions on NOTA, compulsory voting, share of vote to the winning parties, expenses and other issues. Students widely appreciated the programme.
Dr Rose Veera D’Souza appreciated the role of the officer in civic administration and his generosity of still being available to the students, despite his busy schedule.
The principal Fr Swebert D’Silva, vice principal Dr Judy Pinto and programme co-ordinator Dr Rose Veera D’Souza were present.
