Mangaluru: District Congress Committee remembers former PM Nehru

Mangaluru, 28 May 2015: Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) observed the death anniversary of nation’s first PM Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru at DCC office here on Wednesday May 27.
DCC designated-president Ibrahim Kodijal after garlanding flowers to the portrait of Pundit Nehru, said that Nehru was a peace ambassador to the world. He had laid the strong foundation for the economic and administrative functions. Five-year plans were launched during his reign and he was successful in setting up industries and building mega dams. Several irrigation projects were implemented for the benefit of nationwide peasants. He supported the dream of Mahatma Gandhi in achieving self sufficiency, said Ibrahim.
The youth Congress president Mitun Rai, Seva Dal organizer Ashraf, town block Congress president Vishwasdas also spoke on the occasion.
DCC general secretary T K Sudhir, Nazir Bajal, south block Congress president Nagendra Kumar, municipal finance Committee president Harinat, SC unit president Padmanabha Naringana, Abubakkar, Nagesh Shetty, Uday Kundar, C M Mustafa, Chandrashekar, Ahmed Bawa, Sanjeev, Abdul Khader, Maqbool, George, Theresa Pinto, Rajeevi and others were present.
