Bantwal: Karnataka Media Academy Awardee Rons Bantwal f’ted

Bantwal, 19 May 2015: Rons Bantwal who hailed from a remote village of coastal district migrated to Mumbai became a journalist, renowned social activist and became a creative personality, that aptly makes him cultural ambassador of Karnataka – Maharashtra, said Mangaluru Akashwani station director Dr Vasant Kumar Perla.
Dr Perla was speaking during the felicitation of Karntaka Media Academy Award recipient Rons Bantwal during the function held at Press Club, B C Road, here on Monday May 17. It was organized by taluk working journalists Association.
The media had significantly contributed for the integral development of undivided Dakshina Kannada district in the sphere of literacy, education, jobs and commerce. The taluk working journalists Association deserves appreciation for felicitating Rons Bantwal, added Dr Perla.
Rons Bantwal in his acknowledgement address shared his profession life. He also advised the journalists to develop positive mental attitude and change with the times. He urged the journalists to unite in availing state facilities meant for rural journalists.
The taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Jayanand Peraje in his felicitation address said that Rons had developed his personality during the college days that has enabled him to succeed in Mumbai.
The taluk working journalists Association president Mounesh Vishwakarma presided the programme. DK district working journalists Association general secretary Srinivas Nayak Indaje was the chief guest of the occasion.
The taluk working journalists Association vice president Suryanarayan Poovala welcomed the gathering. The secretary Ratnadev Punjalkatte proposed vote of thanks. The treasurer Sandeep Salian compered the programme.
