Mangalore: International Nursing Day concludes with Student Nurses Association Day at Father Mullers

Mangalore, 10 May 2015: The three dayInternational Nurses Day celebrations concluded with the Valedictory programmeat the Father Muller’s Academy Auditorium on Saturday the 9th May 2015.


The second day i.e. 8th May 2015 celebrations were filled with loads of competitions held at the various venues of the College of Nursing such as Pick and Speak, Dry Flower Arrangement, Ms. Mullerian, Mock Press, Eastern Group Song and Comedy Dance.  The Comedy dance performances enthralled the audience as all teams performed superbly. The Mock press was judged by the eminent personalities namely Ms. Princy Louise and Dr. Savita Cutinho and Comedy Dance were judged by Ms. Brijit D’Souza and Ms. Princy Louise.


The final daywas the student Nurses Association day which began with Eucharistic Celebrations at 6:15am followed by Panel Discussion at 9am. 


The Valedictory Programme began at 10:30 am with an Invocation by 3rd year B.S.C. Nursing Students followed by all the dignitaries were escorted to the dais by Vice Presidents School and College of Nursing.


Ms. Jasmine Sarita Vas, Principal, FM School of Nursing welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest of the day Dr. Veronica Judith Pinto, Vice Principal, St. Aloysius College.  She highlighted here loads of achievements starting from her school days as a ranking student and then on her carrier as a teacher, counselor, her mammoth contribution to konkani literature.
Lighting of the traditional lamp followed by all dignitaries on the dais namely Rev. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues,Dirctor; FMCI, Rev. Fr. Richard Crasta, Advisor, FMCI, Ms. Jasmine Sarita Vas, Principal, FM School of Nursing, Dr. Veronica Judith Pinto, Vice Principal, St. Aloysius College, Ms. AkhilaMolBabu SNA Vice President.  The programme was presided by Rev. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues.
The secretaries of School and College of nursing read out the annual reports which highlighted various academic, sports, cultural and literary achievements by the respective institutions.

 All the winners of the various competitions held during the auspicious occasion of International Nursing Day Celebrations were given away with prizes.  The list was read by their respective advisors, namely: Ms. Sharon Pais,SNA Advisor FM School of Nursing, Ms.PramilaMadta, SNA Advisor FM College of Nursing.


In hermessage to nursing studentsDr. Veronica Judith Pintoapplauded the care and dedication of nurses and she said only nurses are able to take care of the sick with great patient, love and care.  Nursing profession is also a very beneficial as they are in demand all over the globe especially nurses from Father Muller are employed in the gulf, UK, USA, Canada and many other parts of the globe and they are doing financially very good.  She further said that the nurses have the special qualities of taking care of the sick and deal with any emergency situation where a common man just can’t do such jobs.  She said the motto of a nurse should always be: “Serving People with a Smile”.


Rev. Fr. Patrick Rodriguesin his presidential address said that during course of the study nursing students also should take part in all activities and never to miss any opportunities that come your way.  “Nursing not only studying but get equipped with all knowledge to face the future with confidence and any situations in life and for that involving various act ivies of the college is very important which will groom the nurses to be the best in the field. It is very important make 100% use of your time and never go an opportunity to pass by.”


On the occasion “ Muller Spring “ a college magazine was released and a presentation of Poster Competition was held organized by Research Consultancy Department.


The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. AkhilaMolBabu SNA Vice President.


The entire event was wonderfully compered by Rinsha Mary, Jasmine Maria Lobo and Jasmine Noronha.  The Valedictory Programme concluded with cultural events by students of School and College of Nursing and Institutional Anthem.
