Bantwal: Series of road mishaps at Vogga; truck driver critical; car hits electric pole

Bantwal, 07 May 2015: A series of road mishaps occurred in Vogga, here on Wednesday May 6.
A car hit the electric poles that were damaged in the mishap at Vogga in Kavalapadoor village, Wednesday morning.
A car plying from Punjalkatte to B C Road hit 2 electric poles that divide the electricity supply from a transformer located in front of BSNL telephone exchange. The high tension cables were hanging lose between he poles, otherwise there would have major tragedy.
The front portion of the car was damaged but the driver tried to flee from the spot but came to standstill because its radiator drained of coolant. He also pulled off the number plate. The locals informed public utility provider MESCOM while its junior engineer Rangaswamy was successful in identifying the driver and got his consent to bear the cost of Rs 40,000, in replacing 2 broken electric poles.
In another incident, a truck driver was critically injured when head-on collision of 2 sand-loaden trucks at Vogga, here on Wednesday morning.
