Mumbai: Maharashtra Konkan Association convenes 20th AGM

Mumbai, 03 May 2015: Maharashtra Konkan Association ® convened its twentieth annual general body meeting at St Jude’s parish school auditorium, Jerimeri, Kurla (West) here on Friday May 1 evening.
Earlier, Maharashtra Konkan Association spiritual director Fr Lancy Saldanha offered the Thanksgiving Mass on the occasion.
Maharashtra Konkan Association founder president Leo Fernandes Jerimeri presided the annual general meeting.
Fr Lancy in his message said that people would not be satisfied if one serves in his lifetime of a century. It should not discourage those engaged in social welfare activities instead take the criticisms in good spirit. The selfless service will have its rewards, said Fr Lancy.
Speaking on the occasion, Leo Fernandes said social concern only leads to selfless service. The social welfare service has become a thankless job that discourages the people to be associated with organizations. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Konkan Association is surging ahead with unity of all members, said Fernandes.
Benedicta B Rebello was elected as new president of Maharashtra Konkan Association.
Sangeet Samrat Henry D’Souza, Stanley D’Souza Kalina, Henry D’Paula, V D’Silva and others were present.
The former president Walter D’Souza Kalmade, past president Benedicta B Rebello, John Veigas were present at the dais.
The general secretary Vincent Castelino welcomed the gathering. John Beigas proposed vote of thanks.
