Mangaluru: Airport Customs seize Iranian saffron worth Rs 13.75 lac from Dubai passenger

Mangaluru, 2 May 2015: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport on Saturday May 2 seized 11 kilograms of Tashrifat brand Iranian saffron approximately valued Rs 13.75 lac from a passenger Moideen Salman, who arrived from Dubai.

 

The passenger had concealed the saffron along with clothes and other personal effects inside 2 cardboard boxes which were brought by him as his checked in baggage.

 

 

Twenty-three-year-old Moideen Salman, who arrived at Mangalore International Airport on Saturday at about 7.50am by Jet Airways flight number 9W531 from Dubai, is a resident of Kasargod, Kerala.
