Mumbai: Ryan All India Inter-School Football Tourney - 2015

Mumbai, 2 May 2015: Ryan International Group of Institutions organized Ryan All India Inter-School Football Tournament - 2015 under the auspices of Ryan International Sports Club recently in Goa.
 
The tournament is the brain-child of Dr A F Pinto, chairman, Ryan International Group of Institutions who is a keen promoter of sports in India and has a vision of taking it to the international level.
 
The tournament was in league and knockout format with students competing for the Ryan Gold Cup, Auxiliary Cup and Tie Breaker Cup. There were 28 teams with about 400 students (under-14 category) from across India participated in this mega event hoping to take home the coveted trophies.
 
The winner of the Ryan Gold Cup was Ryan International School, Sanpada (Mumbai). St Lawrence High School, Kandivli was on top till the end but were defeated by little giants from Ryan International School, Sanpada whose Larib Sayed scoring the only goal to take his team to the Victory stands. Cambridge school and St Lawrence High School, Borivli (W) made it to the finals of Auxiliary Cup however the latter overhauled Cambridge School to grab a triumphant victory with 2-0 on the scoreboard. However, in the Tie-Breaker series, Cambridge School rose to the top with a fabulous 4-3 win over St. Xavier’s High School, Mira Road here.

 

 
The winners were felicitated with trophies and awards in a grand prize distribution ceremony which was attended by some eminent personalities - Benjamin D’Silva, MLA, John Silva, GFA Executive and Francisco Fernandes, International FIFA referee and GFA executive among others.
 
The guests were highly impressed by the entire football extravaganza organized so systematically by the Ryan Group. This tournament at the national level was to motivate budding footballers towards excellence in football and develop a taste for the game.
