Mangaluru: Jeppu parish felicitates Limbless achiever Sabitha Monis

Mangaluru, 02 May 2015: On the occasion of Jeppu Parish Day, Sabitha Monis, a native of Venur parish in Karkal, who was born with no limbs was the invited as chief guest for the programme here on Friday May 1.
Sharing her experience, Sabitha said, ‘Nothing is impossible. It is our mindset that we feel that we are not able to achieve anything. We make much of our pain and sorrow. Instead we face it courageously; we can face life and challenge it.’
She further said that it is due the support of her parents and later teachers in various schools, she could complete post-graduation with high marks. There were occasions during her primary studies she stood first in the class just but making use of her legs as hands to write the exams.
During the programme the parish priest Fr Nelson D’Almeida invited everyone to learn from the life of Sabitha. She proved to be real light of the word to many. During the programme she was felicitated by the parish community.
Sr Slyvia Fernandes, superior of Infant Mary convent, Jeppu parish council vice president Philomena D’Silva and secretary Laveena Dias were present on the dais.
The gathered crowed encouraged Sabitha Monis with thundering applauses.
