Mangaluru: Educational & Social survey 79% complete in DK – N Lingappa

Mangaluru, 29 Apr 2015: Dakshina Kannada district achieved 79 percent of progress in the social and educational survey that was embarked upon by the state administration under the slogan, equal share for all, equality of life to all, because of wide publicity and active participation of people, said Karnataka state backward classes Commission member N Lingappa.
Addressing the media persons at Circuit House here on Tuesday April 28, Lingappa said that the survey will be concluded as per the schedule on April 30. He also appreciated the early completion of survey at Mulky town council and congratulated the council chief officer Vani Alva in this regard.
Lingappa also visited the survey office at Sullia and also pointed out the mistake in stating the caste of Sundaramma in municipal block of 30, which was rectified instantly.
The total of 1.27 lac enumerators are engaged in surveying 6.50 crore people of 1.39 crore families in Karnataka, said Lingappa. As per the census of 2011 in Dakshina Kannada district there were 4,52,408 families. However, as per the pre-survey held on April 1 and 2 April 2015, 4,62,943 are arrived at, while there are 1,31,751 families in the limits of municipal council, here, said Lingappa.
The survey report is likely to be published during mid July 2015, added Lingappa.
