Bantwal: Cong-led state Govt strives for social justice of deprived people – Minister Rai

Bantwal, 28 Apr 2015: Congress-led governments in the past always strived for social justice of deprived people; while the state government believes in empowerment of common folks leads to just society, said state forests and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking while on his visit to Kavalamudoor near here on Tuesday April 28, after inaugurating many programmes, laying foundation for development works, distributing state benefits to eligible beneficiaries and accepting memorandums.
In the past there were only a few landlords who owned title deeds, while the Land Tribunal Act empowered thousands to own the lands. CM Siddaramaiah-led state government brought amendment of 94 C to the said Act to award title deeds to several people. The gram panchayats are advised to reserve a minimum of 2 acres to allot for homeless and 2 acres for crematorium, said minister Rai.
Kavalamudoor gram panchayat president Yacoub Saheb, TP member B Padmashekar Jain, Sampat Kumar Shetty, BUDA president Pius L Rodrigues, K Mayilappa Salian, Tahsildar Purandar Hegde, ranger forest conservator Subramanya Rao, Karinja temple former managing trustee P Jinaraj Ariga, PM Gram Sadak Yojana assistant executive engineer Jayanand Poojary, minor irrigation assistant executive engineer Shanmugam, Namma Grama Namma Raste contractor Girish Gowda, PWD engineer Umesh Bhat, TP assistant director Asha Mehandale, gram panchayat vice president Sunanda, Kavalamudoor Agricutural Service Co-operative Bank director Dayanand Shetty Amay, panchayat development officer Vivekanand, Yusuf Karandlady and others were present.
The minister Rai inaugurated Ambedkar Bhavan that was built @ Rs 10 lac at SC colony, Kailar, near here, laid the foundation for road development of Karinja – Nelligudde Road @ Rs 2.68 crore and vented dam at Kandrody, near here @ Rs 30 lac etc..
Keddalike Higher Primary School headmaster K Ramesh Nayak welcomed the gathering. The revenue inspector Sadhoo read the list of new title holders. Keddalike Higher Primary School governing council president Divakaradas proposed vote of thanks. The teacher Jayaram Naik compered the programme.
