Bantwal: State minister R Reddy lays foundation for bus terminus at B C Road

Bantwal, 25 Apr 2015: The local candidates are appointed for KSRTC in order to offer better services, and to extend transport services to all towns and rural villages for the benefit of passengers, said state transport and KSRTC chairman Ramalinga Reddy.
The minister Reddy was speaking after laying the foundation for constructing new bus terminus at B C Road, here on Friday April 24.
He further said KSRTC staff hailing from far-flung regions across Karnataka who work in DK district seek transfers because of rains and souring temperatures. Meanwhile, the local candidates will be given priority whilst the appointment takes place in Mangaluru, Puttur and Chamarajanagar, said minister Reddy.
He also said that KSRTC bagged 3 prizes from union government for efficient transport management. KSRTC has utilized the full aid of union government for 2,000 buses, said minister Reddy.
The new bus terminus will be constructed @ Rs 7.5 crore in 1 year. It will have total space of 4,878.12 square feet; ground floor, first floor and second floor, bay for 12 buses, seating arrangement for passengers, separate toilets for men and women, restrooms, drinking water facility, luggage room, cafeteria, shops, reservation counters, parking in basement floor, women restrooms, etc.

The state forests and DK district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai presided the programme.
Bantwal TP president Yashawant D, councilor Vasanti Chandappa, deputy councilor Yasmeen, BUDA president Pius L Rodrigueds, Mohammed Nandarabettu, ZP member Mamata D S Gatti, Nalini Shetty, Nalini Shetty, Chandraprakash Shetty, M S Mohammed, DK district Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, chief engineer Jagdishchandra, deputy transport officer Ahmed Khan, Tahsildar Purandar Hegde, MRPL managing director Laxminarayan, district Congress vice president B H Khader were present.
KSRTC Karnataka division controller P Rajashekaramurti welcomed the gathering. The law officer Narasimha Varma proposed vote of thanks. The teacher B Ramachandra Rao compered the programme.
