Bantwal: Land Tribunal Act empowered tiny farmers in DK - Minister Rai

Bantwal, 24 Apr 2015: The village councils ought to take earnest interest in providing housing to homeless poor families in rural areas, in order to strengthen social justice among lower strata of society, said DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking after distributing RTCs to 94 beneficiaries during his visit to Baltila village on Wednesday April 22.
In the past there were only a handful of RTC holders, while the Land Reforms Act empowered thousands of people to own their lands and secure RTCs which is due to the social concern of past government that reined the state, said minister Rai. He also advised the RTC holders to know the past development.
Baltila gram panchayat president Sundar Salian presided the programme.
ZP member Chandraprakash Shetty, Panemangaluru block Congress president Abbas Ali, gram panchayat vice president Netravati, members B K Annu Poojary, Krishnappa Poojary, Suresh Shetty, Lolakshi, Divya Nayak, TP assistant director Dayavati, block education officer Sheshashayana Karinja, co-ordinating officer Rajesh, gram panchayat development officer Pushpavati, secretary Ashok Kumar, revenue inspector Narayan Poojary and Ramappa Poojary were present.
The minister Rai laid the foundation for constructing barrier wall for protecting farmlands @ Rs 5 lac by minor irrigation department at Sannakukku, near here on the same occasion.
