Udupi: Shirva Kutti Shetty (70), philanthropist, social activist passes away

Udupi, 21 Apr 2015: The seventy-year-old Shirva Kutti Shetty, veteran of social, religious and political leader of Shirva locality and Kaup legislative assembly constituency passed away at his residence here owing to brief illness here on Sunday April 19 at 9.30am.

 

He served in the executive Committee of Vidhyavardaka Sangh in Shirva, ner here for the past 30 years, served as president of Ballady ZP Higher Primary School governing council, president of many temples in Shirva locality. He was the president of Shirva Kambala Committee and public celebration of Ganeshotsav for 15 years.

 

He served as member of Land Tribunal, Shirva gram panchayat, director/president of Shirva Agricultural Service Co-operative Bank.  He was awarded ’Dharmatma’ title by religious centers for his kind deeds.
