Mangaluru: Tokoor - Padoor Janjagruti Samiti briefs MP Nalin about unscientific ISPRL pipeline

Mangaluru, 14 Apr 2015: The renowned social activist Deviprasad Shetty led the farmers who will become victims of laying pipeline by ISPRL as it passes through 24 villages from Tokoor in Dakshina Kannada district to Padoor in Udupi district, to meet Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar at Circuit House, here on Monday April 13.
The farmers leaders briefed MP Nalin about the mass opposition against laying the pipeline lodged with both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Deputy Commissioners during 2013. The authorities of ISPRL are unilaterally taken the decision and drawn up unscientific plan, disregarding the fertile farmlands, densely populated areas, without properly assessing the valuation of plantation and trees, etc. The farmers were not taken into confidence by maintaining transparency in every move, without serving notices to the victims.
The farmers urged MP Nalin to advise ISPRL in order to hold scientific survey and decide upon awarding compensation in accordance with amended Land Acquisition Act of 2015.
Padoor Pipeline Janjagruti Samiti president Chittaranjan Bhandary, Jagdish P, Vinay L Shetty, Chelyar gram panchayat vice president Pushparaj Shetty, Balakrishna Shetty Kuttettoor, Ravindra Shetty Kuttettoor, Kalattor Shivaram Shetty, Nityanand Shetty Kalattoor and others were present.
