Mumbai: Akhila Bharat Kannada Journalists Samavesh, 3-Day Convention under way in metro

Mumbai, 12 Apr 2015: The Kannadigas settled in metro and Marathi people enjoy better relations beyond boundary issue. I am committed to save it. I would not hesitate to back Kannadigas if a need arises, said Thane MLA Pratap Surnaik.
 
MLA Pratap was speaking after inaugurating Akhila Bharat Kannada Patrakartara Samavesh – 2015, 3-day convention held at Hotel Dhiraj, Thane, here on Saturday April 11.
 
Akhila Bharat Kannada Patrakartara Samavesh – 2015 was organized by Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharashtra® in association with Karnataka Madhyama Academy – Bengaluru, Karnataka state working journalists Association and Mumbai University Kannada department.
 
Kannada is not only a language, instead its culture that strengthens the relations of different states, which promotes culture and literature, opined Karnataka Madhyama Academy president M A Ponnappa.   
 
Ponnappa also said, ‘Samavesh that was organized by Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharashtra in Mumbai has proved the love of Kannadigas to mother tongue,’ said Ponnappa.
 
Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharashtra president and chairman of Samavesh – Chandrashekar Palettady said that it’s the historical event to bring all Kannadiga journalists from all over the country to a common platform.
 
The senior journalist Manohar Prasad said that at the prevailing times of media glorifying crimes, the journalists ought to change the situation in highlighting human values.

 

 
Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharashtra vice president Dayasagar Chowta delivered the keynote address.
 
The entrepreneur B Vivek Shetty, Marathi Patrakar Sangh president Devdas L Matale, Chandan Shirvale, advocate B Mohiudeen Mundkoor, writer retired Professor Dr Sunita Shetty, Shubhada Education Trust president N K Billava, Chandrakant Shinde and others were present.
 
Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharashtra general secretary Rons Bantwal was felicitated for bagging Karnataka Madhyama Award.
 
Shyam Hande welcomed the gathering. Joint secretary Premanat Shetty Mundkoor proposed vote of thanks. The secretary Harish K Hejamady compered the programme.
 
Dakshina Kannada district working journalists Association president Jagannat Shetty Bala, secretary Srinivas Indaje, Press Club Trust president Ravindra Shetty, journalist Nagesh Polali, Dhananjay Gurpur, U K Kumaranat, Sudhakar Yermal, Shekar Ajekar and others were present.
