Karkal: Donors need to support state-run schools for quality edu - Prabhu

Karkal, 11 Apr 2015: The education sphere that was supposed to be a philanthropic activity has turned into money spinning business. It’s an irony that the private education institutions that impart education charging exorbitant fees are competing with state-run schools that offer free education. In order to restrict this dangerous trend, the donors should come forward to support the state-run schools in imparting quality education, said Hosa Sanje Balaga president R Devaraya Prabhu.
Devaraya was the chief guest speaking during silver jubilee celebration of Government Higher Primary School, Kadambala, Miyar, near here on Friday April 10.
The entrepreneur Rajesh Londe inaugurated the flag-hoisting-stage that was constructed in memory of the late Ponku Mera by his children and grand children.
Umesh K S of Miyar cluster, gram panchayat member Shekar, school development Committee president Annu, alumni Association president Raja K, silver jubilee celebration Committee honorary president Arbi Subraya Patak, president Monica Menezes, treasurer Vittal S Poojary were present on the occasion.
Bajagoli circle education co-ordinator Shivanand K presided the programme.
The School headmaster Harshavardan welcomed the gathering. The gram panchayat member Shaikh Shabbir compered the programme. The teacher Geetha proposed vote of thanks.
