Mumbai: Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh celebrate Mahaveer Jayanti in metro

Mumbai, 03 Apr 2015: The metro-based Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh celebrated Mahaveer Jayanti at Pejavar mutt hall, Prabhat Colony, Santacruz (East), here on Thursday April 2.
Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh president B Muniraj Jain presided the celebrations of Mahaveer Jayanti hereon Thursday morning.
Mysore University retired Professor of Jainism and research department Shubhachandra Jain Mandya was the chief guest of the occasion.
Pundit Munipal Shah performed the religious celebrations that associated with Mahaveer Jayanti, while the community women and children held the devotional singing.
Professor Shubhachandra in his message to the gathering said that Mahaveer has given a new definition to non violence. He has not seen non violence on point of view of religion; instead he saw religion on point of non-violence. Every being has a right to live and torturing for any reason is unjustified. The need of the hour is to convince the extremists on the preciousness of lives. An individual should share whatever he has exceeding his needs. The equality of wealth and power is the extension of non-violence, said Professor Shubhachandra.
Munipal Jain also spoke on the virtues of Mahaveer to mankind to live in peace and brotherhood.
Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh vice president Jayaraj Jain, treasurer P Anantaraj Jain, joint secretary Ravikirti Jain, joint treasurer Sampat Kumar Jain and othes were present at the dais.
Bharatraj Jain welcomed the gathering. The secretary Pavananjaya Ballal proposed vote of thanks. Loknat S Jain compered the programme.
