Mumbai: Psalmist Haridasa immortalized his experiences in psalms - Sa Daya

Mumbai, 31 Mar 2015: An association is mightier than an individual. One should not use the association or organization for personal endeavor by shunning ego. If that is not so, the key objectives of association will be sidelined and neither such associations nor such individuals will last longer, said Tulu – Kannada theater artiste and intellectual Sa Daya.
Sa Daya was speaking during Haridasa psalms singing competition that was organized by Tulu – Kannada Welfare Association of Mira – Bhayandar, at Shubham auditorium, here on Sunday March 29.
Sa Daya further said, ‘Haridasa psalms are personification of his hard experiences that has greater significance in monotonous city life. Every individual wants to achieve something worthwhile in life. The psalmist Haridas opened his struggle to know the divine. Meanwhile, one has to introspect on ones life, to get insight into spirituality.
Thirteen groups from Mumbai, Thane and Raigad partaken in the competition that was held as memorial to Shailaja Ravi Anchan.
Tulu – Kannada Welfare Association of Mira – Bhayandar honorary chief secretary Leela Ganesh Karkal distributed the cash prizes and mementoes to the winners.
Navaratri Mandali, Dombivali (West) bagged the first prize, Mahishamardini Bhajan Mandali, Borivali bagged the second prize and Vasai – Dahanu Bunts Sangh, Vasai bagged the third prize.
Tulu – Kannada Welfare Association of Mira – Bhayandar vice president Vasanti S Shetty briefed about the intrinsic values of psalms by Dasa. Sugandi S Poojary proposed vote of thanks.
