Mumbai: Konkani Actor Edwin Banz No More

Mumbai, 23 Mar 2015: Renowned Konkani theatre actor Edwin Banz passed away at his residence in 4 Bungalows, Andheri in Mumbai on Monday March 23 morning. He was 66.

 

 

Banz originally hailed from Sastan of Udupi District. He had migrated to Mumbai for work during his youth days and lived there ever since.

 

Edwin, a seasoned actor had acted in several Konkani dramas since 1975 including 60 shows of ’Mhataro Chorbela’ of Francis Fernandes Cascia. The famous drama was staged in various parts of the globe. The character of Banz in the drama was well appreciated. Edwin Banz is survived by his wife Cecelia, son Malcolm and daughter Melanie.
