Ullal all set to become first ’Kerosene Free’ city in Karnataka
Mangaluru, 09 Mar 2015: Ullal is all set to become the first ever ’Kerosene Free’ city in the State after free gas cylinder will be provided to 570 Below Poverty Line (BPL) families during an event that will be convened on March 11, informed Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader.
Talking to media persons here on Monday, March 9, Ullal Town Municipal Corporation has already finished processing the documents furnished by the BPL families to avail the scheme.
Rs 19.86 crore sanctions under Namma Grama Namma Raste Yojane
The government has sanctioned Rs 19.86 crore under Namma Grama Namma Raste Yojane (NGNRY) to undertake concretisation work of all connecting roads in Mangaluru constituency, Khader informed.
The concretisation work to be taken up is as follows -
Manchi-Mudipu road (1.97 kms)-Rs 2.29 crore, Pajeeru-Mithakodi-Arkana road (2.01 kms)- Rs 2.17 crore, Pajeeru-Padilu-Panela road (3.06 kms)-Rs 3.01 crore, Kurnadu-Mudipu-Kodikalu road (1.57 kms)- Rs 1.39 crore, Sajipanadu-Talemogru road (3.2 kms)-Rs 2.91 crore, Ira-Parappu road (1.53 kms)-Rs 1.28 crore, Talapady-Devipura-Tachani road (3.25 kms)-Rs 3.23 crore, Balepuni-Narya road (2.66 kms)- Rs 2.26 crore and Sajipanadu-Kachinadkapadavu road (1.73 kms)-Rs 3.28 crore.
H1N1 committee set up
A five-member- committee headed by Dr H Paramesh , Pediatrician and Pediatric Pulmonologist of Lakeside Medical Centre & Hospital ,Ulsoor, Bengaluru has been formed to find out ways to control the spread of H1N1, informed Khader.
Khader said that the committee will discuss the ways to control the disease. Finally it will prepare a fully fledged report which will have the details of the number of people who had H1NI, number of deaths, cause of death etc. This report will come in handy to formulate comprehensive treatment plans to H1NI patients in the future.
