Mumbai: Education changed women’s perspective - Hemamalini

Mumbai, 09 Mar 2015: The women wing of Bunts Sangh Mumbai® organized International Women’s Day celebrations at Radhabai T Bhandary auditorium, Bunts Bhavan, here on Sunday March 9 afternoon.

 

The women wing president Lata Jayaram Shetty led the celebrations presided by Bunts Sangh Mumbai® president Karnire Vishwanat Shetty.

 

Bollywood actor MP Hemamalini inaugurated the celebrations here on Sunday afternoon.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Hemamalini said, ‘I am not a good speaker, but only an actor. Although I have not aspired to join politics it has come after me. That’s it. I hope to return the debt of society by serving the people. I have adopted a village that is deprived of all essential basic amenities, and if I could make some changes to their life, its worthwhile for me to serve them, said Hemamalini.

 

 

Hemamalini further said, ‘The modern education changed the life of women by providing ample opportunities. The women have been empowered because of her determination to curb feticides. The mankind should be grateful for women for bearing the child,’ said Hemamalini.

 

BJP national core Committee member Shaina N C and MP Gopal Shetty’s wife Usha Gopal Shetty were the guests of honor, presented Radhabai T Bhandary Award to Sucharita R Hegde, managing director of metro-based Fouress Engineering India Limited and One India One People monthly bulletin publisher on the same occasion.

 

The women wing former presidents Lata P Bhandary and Asha M Hegde, Bunts Sangh Mumbai ® vice president Prabhakar L Shetty, honorary chief secretary Ultoor Mohandas Shetty, honorary treasurer chartered accountant I R Shetty, joint secretary Kishore Kumar Shetty Kutyar, Bunts community veteran M D Shetty, Bombay Bunts Association president Shyam N Shetty, former president advocate K P Prakash L Shetty and Shobha couple and others were present.

 

The women wing vice president Mamata R Shetty, honorary treasuer Asha S Shetty, joint secretary Asha S Shetty were present at the dais.

 

Lata Jayaram Shetty welcomed the gathering. Deepika J Rai and Prashanti D Shetty introduced the guests. The honorary secretary Kavita R Shetty proposed vote of thanks. Vijeta S Shetty compered the programme.

 

Variety cultural shows were staged as part of entertainment programme.
