Kuwait: GSB Sabha Kuwait hosts Konkani Pratibha 2015

Kuwait, 05 Mar 2015: GSB Sabha Kuwait, founded in 2003, successfully celebrated its twelfth annual programme, Konkani Pratibha 2015 at the Indian Community School Auditorium, Khaitan here recently.
The event began with an introduction of the programme by masters of ceremonies Usha Prabhu and Srinivas Prabhu, followed by an invocation dance from the children of the Sabha, choreographed by Spoorthi Shenoy Kamat. GSB Children recited a couple of prayers which was headed by Ashutosh Bhat.
It was followed by lighting of lamp by the chief guest Professor Narendra L Nayak, chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, Mangaluru and all Committee members with their better halves including president Dr Surendra Nayak Kapady, vice-president Anil Prabhu, secretary Srinivas M Prabhu, treasurer Ramananda Kamath, joint secretary Jagadeeshwar Shanbhogue, members of advisory Committee comprising B Prakash Pai, Haridas Acharya and Rajaram Pai Kateel, internal auditor Dinesh Kamath and entrepreneur Gokuldas Bhat.
A commemorative souvenir to mark the yearly event was released by the chief guest. Souvenir included informative articles by Sabha members and children.
Dr Surendra in his presidential address extended a warm welcome to the audience gathered in large numbers.
The main attraction of the event started with a mesmerizing performance by dynamic and upcoming Hindustani classical singer Balachandra Prabhu, who sang some of the best known classical abhangs and dasavanis. He was accompanied by Narendra Nayak on harmonium, Gunakar Nayak and Dr Raghavendra Prabhu on tabla and Srinath Bhat on taal.
The crowd was totally captivated by energetic artistes of Sabha who enacted a superlative Konkani drama, Jackpot Janna, directed by Naveen Prabhu.
Srinivas Prabhu proposed the vote of thanks. The event concluded with a sumptuous dinner arranged by management Committee with the help of Sabha volunteers.
