Bantwal: Social Justice Committee protests over mobile towers in vicinity of schools/houses

Bantwal, 04 Mar 2015: The taluk social justice Committee staged protest in front of taluk panchayat office, here on Tuesday March 3, urging the district administration to clear mobile towers located near schools and colleges, residential areas.
The protesters urged to clear the mobile tower functioning besides C B S Vidhyagiri English Medium School.
The taluk social justice Committee president Krishna Allipade after inaugurating the people’s movement that was held in collaboration with many societal welfare organizations said that the ultra-violet rays that are emitted by mobile towers have adverse effects on the health of children and general public.
The Committee treasurer Abubakker Ammunje said that neither the district administration nor the taluk panchayat has not taken any decision to clear the illegal mobile tower functioning at the limits of Amtady gram panchayat despite several pleas, said Abubakker.
The Committee general secretary Edward Fernandes, secretary Ramachandra Suvarna, Vidhyagiri School PTA president Ramdas Bantwal, headmaster Somnat Bhat, council members Devdas Shetty and Sadashiv Bangera, Amtady gram panchayat president Babita Kotian, Vijaya Shyamprasad Shetty Bondala also addressed the general public.
