Mangaluru, 01 Mar 2015: The civic body seeks the support of citizens in its drive to collect garbage from doorsteps, said municipal commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati.

Addressing the media persons at municipal building here on Saturday February 28, Hephsiba said, ‘It’s essential that awareness is created regarding the segregation of waste by the citizens. Every Wednesday of the week will be particularly allotted for collecting dry waste and the remaining 6 days will be allotted to wet waste as it is easier to decompose the waste if this pattern is followed. The awareness campaign in this regard will commence soon and will go on for at least next 2 months,’ said Hephsiba.

‘If the people understand their responsibility and stop littering waste everywhere, we can make Mangaluru 100 percent clean city,’ added Hephsiba.
