Governor confers President’s Police Medals on 57 Police Officers, Personnel

Mumbai, 25 Feb 2015: The Governor of Maharashtra Ch. Vidyasagar Rao presented the President’s Police Medals for Gallantry, Distinguished Service and Meritorious service to 57 police officers and personnel at an Investiture Ceremony held at Dearbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.
While 12 police personnel were given the Gallantry Medal, Forty one (41) police officers and police personnel were decorated with police medals for meritorious service.
Four senior police officers D. Kanakartnam, Additional DG, Rashmi Shukla, Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Bureau, Rajnish Seth, Additional Director General of Anti Corruption and Dr K. Venaktesham, Additional Director General of Police were given President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service.
Late Sanjay Chandrakant Chowgule, Police Sub Inspector, Amravati, late Chinna Gilla Venta Police Constable, Gadchiroli and late Dhananjay Pandhari Maske, Police Constable, Gadchiroli were given the Gallantry Medals posthumously.
Madhukar Pandey, Special Inspector General of of Police, Training and Special Squad, R. K. Singal, Police Commissioner, Rajvardhan, Additional Commissioner of Police, Vishavas Nagare- Patil, Additional Commissioner of Police, Milind R. Bharambe, Additional CP, Sunil B. Phulari, Deputy Director, Sanjay V Mohite, Superintendent of Police, S V Kolhe, Supdt of Police, Dattatraya Karale, Supdt of Police, P.R. Pawar, Supdt of Police, Supriya Patil-Yadav, Dupty Commissioner of Police were among those presented the Police Medals for Meritorious service.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Minister of State for Home (Urban) Ram Shinde, Minister of State for Home (Rural) Dr. Ranjit Patil, Director General of Police Sanjeev Dayal, Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria and other police officers, police personnel and family members of police personnel were present on the occasion.
